Aimée Delevett
The Rev. Aimée Delevett is passionate about creating a community of welcome, relevance, nurture and growth for all people. New to Holy Nativity, she is thrilled to serve the people of this parish and the communities that surround it. Aimée is a bridge builder and a spiritual adventurer.
Raised Episcopalian in Pensacola, Florida, Aimée travelled to Japan after graduating from high school and worked full-time for the African National Congress, Tokyo office, to gain support for the dismantling of apartheid in South Africa. She returned from Japan to study at Wellesley College. Her academic and extracurricular life was devoted to learning more about the work of liberation, particularly as informed by faith. Upon graduating from college, she went to South Africa where for 18 months she lived, studied, and worked for human rights.
Aimée received her Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University, where she had the enormous privilege of studying with Archbishop Desmond Tutu and explored the relationship between theology, social and personal transformation, and justice. She received a Master of Sacred Theology in Anglican Studies at General Theological Seminary, and was ordained to the priesthood in December 2004.
