Staff Biography

Kelin Fulkerson-Smith

Hello all! I am Kelin (Key-Lynn) Fulkerson-Smith and I am very excited to be the Children and Family Minister; thank you for this amazing opportunity! My husband, Brett, dog, (Jena, Yay-Nah) and I moved from Lexington, Kentucky to Oak Park in 2008. Just last year, I gave birth to our son, Jackson, in our townhome (voluntarily too, ask me about it).

At Eastern Kentucky University, I studied Psychology with minors in Philosophy and American Sign Language.

While in Lexington, I was the Director of Children’s Ministries at St. Raphael Episcopal Church. In addition to being the Children and Family Minister at CHN, I am also the lead teacher for children from 13 to 18 months old at Kindercare Learning Center in Elmhurst.

Through my experiences at St. Raphael’s and Kindercare, I cultivated my interest and (eventual) love of working with children and their families. I enjoy working with others to create a safe, peaceful and fun place to learn and grow. I am very much a team player and look forward to both meeting everyone and working together as we strengthen our programs for children and families!
