End of Life
Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we too shall be raised. However, this does not mean that real human grief does not accompany death. The very love we have for each other in Christ brings deep sorrow when we are parted by death.
A burial service gives us the opportunity to say farewell, to say thank you, to seek hope and comfort. We gather to remember and celebrate the life of our loved one and to let ourselves mourn the loss within the comforting context of our hope in life eternal with God.
The clergy at Church of the Holy Nativity are on call to minister to the sick and the dying. We are glad to come to your home or the hospital to pray, talk and share the sacraments. We are also ready to accompany you to the funeral home to advise you as you make preparations.
For a final resting place, CHN has an outdoor columbarium for the internment of ashes for baptized members of Church of the Holy Nativity and their families. Please contact the church office if you would like information regarding this.
Our clergy is available to plan a funeral, as is our organist, at a suggested charge of $150. A reception at the church may be available. A basic reception includes coffee, cake, cookies or sweets. Any catering, cleanup or floral must be arranged and paid for by the family. Please contact the church office to plan a memorial or funeral or if the church columbarium is of interest.
