Quecholac, Puebla, Mexico
WHEN: June 2-10, 2026

WHERE: Casa Hogar La Familia, Quecholac, Puebla, Mexico

WHO: St. Andrew’s and Church of the Holy Nativity Youth and Leaders
Students entering 9th-12th grades may go on the trip without a parent.
Students entering 6th-8th will need a parent to accompany them.

COST: $800 out-of-pocket per person, includes airfare, bus transportation, all meals and
lodging. (Actual cost is $1600 per person, but youth group fundraising hopes to cover
the other $800.)

HOW: Fly to Mexico City or Puebla, then take a bus to the village. While we are there we will
have use of a 12-person passenger van. We will stay in a small local hotel and our meals
are provided by a local restaurant. We will have a representative from Embrace the
Dream who is very familiar with the area with us the whole time.

A passport is required for travel.

St. Andrew’s has a long-standing relationship with the Embrace the Dream Foundation, which principally supports Casa Hogar La Familia, a Christ-centered children’s home just outside the city limits of Quecholac in the Mexican state of Puebla. It provides love and care for orphaned and abandoned children. On our trip, we’ll learn more about their work and pitch in where we’re needed. This could mean painting, cleaning, repairing equipment, or building simple structures while the children are at school. Then when the children return home from school, we get to hang out with them, play, and help with homework. On Saturday, we will take the children on a field trip. And then on Sunday, we will attend worship service together.

Because this is an international trip and costs are higher than usual, fundraising will be very important. Youth and trip participants will be asked to volunteer for several fundraising efforts between now and June.
