Church of the Holy Nativity, located in Clarendon Hills, Illinois, has an immediate opening for a part-time Nursery Attendant to provide a safe and caring environment for infants and small children during our 9:30 am Sunday morning worship service. Part-Time Nursery Attendant Job Description

The Nursery Attendant creates and maintains a positive and safe environment and provides care for infants and toddlers during the 9:30 am worship services on Sunday mornings. Volunteers from the church assist with care of children. The Nursery Attendant reports to the Director of Youth & Family Formation.

 

Job Requirements

• Must have demonstrated ability and experience caring for young children

• Must be able to work Sunday mornings from 9:15 am-10:30 am (optional additional hours during other church events throughout the year may be available)

• Must be trained, or be willing to be trained upon hire, in basic first aid, CPR, and Safe Churches, Safe Communities

• Must commit to one year of employment upon hire

• Successful completion of a criminal background check of the Diocese of Chicago required before hire

 

Job Duties

• Provide childcare from 9:15 am to 10:30 am on Sunday mornings

• Keep nursery in orderly condition, including sanitization of toys and surfaces

• Develop familiarity and communication with children’s parents/guardians

• Be available to provide childcare at other times for church events (optional)

• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Family & Youth Formation (or the Rector or Warden in their absence)

 

Wages and Benefits

• Pay for this position based on experience and training

• May request Sundays off with at least one week’s notice (up to six in one year)
